If you have extra breast milk, think about becoming a milk donor.

Mothers’ milk is the best nutrition for a baby, but sometimes a mom isn’t able to provide this gift to her child or a baby has special medical conditions. MOMS has partnered with Mothers’ Milk Bank to offer a local site for the community to bring donations of breast milk. Mothers’ Milk Bank provides safe, human breast milk to hospitals for their NICU and medically fragile babies, as well as to parents in need of mother’s milk for their child.

Chances are, if you can donate blood, you can donate milk.

How Donating Works

Your excess breast milk is collected and screened, stored for optimal nutritional value, processed to remove viruses and bacteria that may cause illness, and distributed to hospitals and families.

It’s EASY:

1)  Contact Mother’s Milk Bank to get Screened (if you are an existing donor, you can start bringing your milk donations to MOMS location at 1128 W. Santa Ana Blvd., Santa Ana, CA 92703 (Mon – Fri, 9 am – 4 pm). MOMS will store and ship your milk donation to Mothers’ Milk Bank.

2) Or, Get Started at the Milk Depot at MOMS

  1. Bring your frozen breast milk (milk stored up to 6 months in freezer will be accepted). Labeled with date and amount.
  2. Mothers’ Milk Bank will contact you to discuss your medical history and complete the screening process.
  3. When each screening is complete, a gentle blood test will be arranged for you.
  4. Once approved to be a donor, you will receive milk bags and instructions on how to store and send your much appreciated donation. You will also be able to bring your donations of milk to the new Milk Bank at MOMS.

*Transporting milk is managed by the Milk Bank. It is free to you.

It’s Simple. It’s Safe. It’s the Best for Babies!
