Impact
MOMS model of community health promotion promotes the best outcomes possible for babies and allows for unique opportunities to observe and screen for risks to maternal-child health that can benefit from early intervention.
Utilizing best practices, evidenced-based screening tools and curricula including ROSE© (Reach Out, Stay Strong, Essentials for mothers of newborns), Edinburgh© depression screening, ACEs screening and ASQ assessments for infant health and development, MOMS has demonstrated through rigorous outside evaluation that its program measurably improves birth outcomes and brings infants from a highly disadvantaged population to health and developmental levels that exceed those of the general population.
Outcomes
We are passionate about healthy babies and the priceless gift that health bestows on families.
Our work is fruitful – achieving infant health outcomes in underserved populations that far exceed those throughout the rest of the United States.
We have a deep commitment to staff sharing the same culture and languages as the families we work with. Research findings suggest that this cultural competency and the strong relationships formed between our home visitors and clients contribute significantly to the positive birth outcomes MOMS achieves.
