Mental Health
Becoming a parent can be challenging. We are here to help.
The transition to becoming a parent marks a significant shift in identity that can lead to anxiety, relationship changes, and sometimes more significant mental health challenges like perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Some parents also face unexpected challenges along the way including infertility and loss. Understanding the resources available to you is one of the best things you can do to be prepared if you encounter challenges and need help.
You are not alone. MOMS surrounds you with resources and support to help you thrive on your parenting journey.
ROSE Program
The ROSE Program (Reach Out, Stay Strong, Essentials for mothers of newborns) is an evidence-based program that has been shown to reduce cases of postpartum depression by half in a series of randomized control trials. Since 2019, MOMS has offered the ROSE program as part of our Healthy Beginnings program and health education classes. The ROSE curriculum is incorporated into the following classes:
- Preparing for Motherhood/Preparandome para la Maternidad
- Postpartum Support Group/Grupo de Apoyo Postparto
- Healthy Woman Mind and Soul/ Mujer Sana Mente y Alma
To register for one of these classes, please visit the Class Registration page.
Short-Term Therapy
For clients enrolled in our Healthy Beginnings program, we offer short-term therapy with a bilingual licensed mental health professional who specializes in perinatal mental health. This service is intended to be a bridge while clients wait to access long-term support, if needed. Appointments are available on Mondays and Fridays.
